ABHINAV SAMAJ is Not-for-Profit Organization registered with Govt. of NCT of Delhi under Trust Act. All the members of Governing Body of ABHINAV SAMAJ are retired Government Officers/Business people and from well to do families. Trust was formed to serve society on the basis of personal experiences of all the members. Since inception as on 07.04.2010 we are working for the rehabilitation and welfare of destitute elderly. We are running ‘Jai Ma Durga Old-Age Home’ at C-147, Uday Vihar, Nilothi Extn., Chander Vihar, New Delhi-110041 (INDIA) where we are providing free shelter, food, medical-facilities and all other basic needs required to elderly free of cost. In ‘Jai Ma Durga Old-Age Home, there is capacity of 50 inmates. 60 more elderly visits during day time for day-care facility in which we provide them with free food, Physiotherapy and counseling.
Further we are distributing food to nearly 3500-4000 people outside of government hospitals in Delhi and NCR to needy and poor people. Hygeinic and healthy food is provided to them daily different hospitals in Delhi and NCR. Our two Vans, one in Noida and one in Delhi daily distributes food to such people.
Our another new program is started to dispose ashes of unclaimed bodies collected from crematoriums of Delhi. (Asthi Visarjan Program). We dispose with all the religious customs in holy river of Ganges at Sati Ghat, Kankhal, Hardwar. In one time we takes ashes (asthis) of 100-120 unclaimed bodies.
We performs regular health-check ups of all the inmates in our old-age home. In case of their death we performs their last rituals according to their religion as there are many people whose children refused to accept them even after their death just to save the money to be spent on last rituals of their parents. In addition to this we are providing shelter to destitute children and provide them all facilities for education and shelter.
People from both rich and poor class are effected by this crisis in current times of micro-families. However rich have sources to sustain but the poor have nothing to survive and even have to die with hunger on roads. This problem is very common these days. Anyone among us can suffer this problem any time. I the Settler of this Trust have faced the problem and many of my friends too. Being a retired senior government officer, before my retirement I have myself seen many such cases in official capacity also. Seeing such incidents we all members of governing-body of ABHINAV SAMAJ decided to work for the welfare and rehabilitation of destitute elderly. In addition to this we regularly arranges free medical-camps on monthly basis for different diseases i.e. heart-diseases, dental, eyes, psychiatric diseases for under-privilige people.
During CORONA crisis our volunteers have been working day and night to help CORONA effected families by providing them ready to eat meals, medicines, filling of oxygen cylinders, providing them PPE kits, nebulizers, oxymeters etc. free of any cost. In case of death of CORONA effected patients our volunteers helped them to complete their last rituals in crematoriums. Since even their own family members refused to even touch them and to chase them to crematoriums our volunteers have been always ready to help them to carry their bodies from hospitals to crematoriums, bookings in crematoriums and complete their last rituals irrelevant to caste, creed and religion.
In addition to it we help studying students in such families to continue their education by providing them books, stationery and other required study materials etc.
In addition to above we are distributing books and study materials to primary class to Class-VIII students in slums/JJ colonies of Delhi/NCR. Children in such colonies have no access to electronic gadgets to learn. Their only source of learning is books and other study materials. Our volunteers educationists provide them classes on weekends.
Since spread of CORONA w.e.f. 15.05.2020 to present we have distributed 91,412 packets of grocery-kits, 6,65,181 packets of ready-to-eat food packets, 5,15,217 masks, 62,620 bottles of sanitizers, 91,090 Nos. of Dettol soap, books and other study materials to 9,865 students in different slums/JJ colonies i.e. Kali Basti (Uttam Nagar), JJ Colony Blocak-A1, Uttam Nagar, JJ Colony Blocak-A2, Uttam Nagar, JJ Colony Kakrola, JJ Colony Khayala, JJ Colony Hastsal, JJ Colony Raghubir Nagar (all the above colonies in Delhi).
Further we have got a big piece of land (25 bighas) in Chakrata, Distt.Dehradun in Uttrakhand state in INDIA to construct a big old-age home and orphanage there consisting of approximately 100 rooms. Out of which 80 rooms shall be used for elderly (six inmates shall be accommodated in each room) and fifteen rooms shall be used for orphanage where appropriate street/homeless children shall be accommodated. Remaining rooms shall be used for other uses i.e. Medical-Dispensary, Recreation-Room, General Meeting and Dining Room etc. We feels destitute elderly and homeless children have perfect match to fulfil each other’s sentiments. We aims to provide world-class environment and facilities to all destitute elderly and homeless children.
In addition to it we are developing Agro-Eco Tourism system too there for elderly.
The entire land is donated to us by a local farmer of Uttrakhand who is now a part of our Governing Body.
