About the Organisation
Founded in 1993 by committed social workers, Hariraj Charitable Trust is a grassroots organisation working to improve the quality of life of economically vulnerable communities. With over 33 years of experience, the Trust operates across education, health, livelihoods, natural resource management, environment, and sustainable agriculture.
The organisation focuses on empowering youth, women, children, and marginalised communities through education, skill development, entrepreneurship, and health initiatives. Starting with primary education and reproductive and child health programs, the Trust has expanded into women’s livelihood initiatives, vocational training, SHG formation, and climate-resilient agriculture.
Currently, the Trust supports over 3,650 farmers through sustainable farming practices, water resource management, and crop diversification. It has also facilitated farmer-producer organisations and strengthened community institutions such as Gram Sanjivani Samitis.
Through its Centre for Learning Assistance, the Trust bridges learning gaps among children, while its Gender Education Program engages adolescents (13–17 years) to promote gender equality and prevent violence by challenging harmful social norms.
With a strong grassroots presence, experienced team, and deep community trust, Hariraj Charitable Trust designs and implements sustainable, scalable interventions that create lasting social impact.
