Direct Relief is responding after Hurricane Helene has caused unprecedented damage across the southeastern U.S. and southern Appalachia, disrupting essential services.
In preparation for hurricanes and tropical storms each year, Direct Relief distributes and monitors caches of medications and supplies, called hurricane preparedness packs, throughout the Gulf Coast and other vulnerable areas. The packs contain medical essentials, including chronic disease medications, wound care supplies, and other items commonly requested after storms for patient care.
Direct Relief is dedicated to supporting both immediate relief and long-term hurricane recovery efforts and will use all contributions designated for "Hurricane Helene" directly and solely for relief and recovery efforts related to that hurricane.
The humanitarian medical aid organization will respond as long as needed to those communities impacted by Hurricane Helene.
