Build a Basket Village of 100 containers with recreational facilities
Following the earthquake which caused the destruction of 10 cities in South-East Turkey, BIDEV is starting a project to construct Basket Village, to provide shelter and hygiene. To begin with, we are aiming to build 100 container houses in Hatay which is one of the most affected cities in the region.
Location: Belen, Hatay
Total area:11.397 sqm
• 100 containers to be used as shelter
• 2 containers to be used as a recreational facility and food hall
• 1 container to be used for laundry mate
• 1 container to be used as an infirmary
Basket Village containers are designed for 8 people including a bathroom and kitchenette. These containers will be delivered to their new residents as fully equipped.
It is a long and challenging going returning to normal life after such a big disaster. Especially children and youngsters need activities that enable them to concentrate on other things and socialize.
After the construction of Basket Village and the satisfaction of basic needs, basketball training, and some educative activities will be planned with the aim of helping children and youngsters to overcome their difficulties.
