THE AFRICA COLLEGE FOUNDATION (UK)

Woodford Green

Africa College Foundation(ACF) is the UK-registered non-profit, non-governmental arm of the multi-award winning South Africa-based Maharishi Invincibility Institute (MII). A world-leading institution working to eradicate poverty through pioneering universal access to free tertiary education for the most marginalised youth in post-Apartheid South Africa and beyond, we purport that Consciousness-Based Education has the power to transform individual lives and safeguard collective growth. Given the fact that almost four out of every ten youth on the planet reside in Africa, we purport that this process of transformation and growth in Africa directly impacts the economic, social and cultural prosperity of individuals, communities, businesses, governments and organisations around the world. With more than 30 awards, 60 research publications, 100 innovations, we enjoy distinct recognitions, including Stanford University’s, as one of the 12 most innovative higher education institutions in the world. Building on three decades of unprecedented success in socioeconomic mobilisation of the most marginalised students in both rural and urban communities through low-cost high return on investment in education, we are redefining growth in two ways: one, we couple economic growth with social development, and two, we ensure sustainability through a process that is not only related to our environment, but rooted in the organic flourishing of human consciousness. As a result, our graduates achieve remarkable financial success, earning between 90% and 400% of their education cost in their first year of employment. Over the span of their careers, they are projected to earn 80 to 600 times the initial cost of their education. Additionally, an impressive 90% of our graduates, transition to middle-class income levels within three years without being locked into growth-oriented economic models that dissuade individuals, institutions and communities from sustainability. This is why we are leading the creation of Education Town, the first global hub for education and innovation in the heart of Johannesburg, the most impactful capital in the youngest continent on earth: Africa.

Almost 67% of youth in South Africa between the ages of 18 and 24 are unemployed. Their main challenge remains access to quality education, care and guidance. In addition, many originate from other emerging African economies, including Ghana, Nigeria, Malawi, Burundi, DRC, Tanzania, Kenya, Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Zambia and Angola.

Close to 70% of children in South Africa are raised without both parents, grandparents, or sometimes no adult love and ... Read More
