Our tree plantation campaigns in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Palestine help to save lives by providing poor and destitute farmers with a livelihood and income.
Planting fruit trees and supporting village agriculture is essential in creating sustainable livelihoods across hungry and impoverished communities. They are a simple and sustainable way to help feed and sustain the vulnerable in society.
Enabling agriculture is essentially giving people a livelihood, which empowers them to work their way out of poverty. Trees provide food and shade, whilst benefitting the environment and reducing soil erosion.
£10 - With £10 we can gift 1 olive tree to a family in Palestine.
£25 - Pays for 4 fruit trees in a remote village in Bangladesh. We source saplings that will thrive in the local climate and bear fruit that is most suitable to local needs.
£125 - Allows Muslim Futures to provide a small orchard of 40 fruit trees in Afghanistan or Pakistan, benefitting generations to come.

The fruit trees we plant vary depending on the region, climate and natural diet of those who will benefit.
In Gaza we gift olives. Once an olive tree has reached maturity, it becomes a lifelong source of olives and olive oil. In Afghanistan, Pakistan and wider Asia, the trees we plant include mangos, apricots, guava, papaya, apples, and oranges. In Tanzania and across Africa, its usually vegetables and other crops to cultivate arable lands.
In some cases, the farmers and families we support will request seeds instead of trees, as this suits their small-holding needs based on the local conditions. Often the seeds are for tomatoes, chillies, lemons, eggplant, or other vegetable crops. Along with the seeds we also provide tools for planting and cultivation, as well as fertilizers.
Once the trees reach maturity, they become a life-long source of food for a poor family.
As a source of income, they go a long way when nurtured with care; families can sell or trade the surplus produce to buy other foods and needy items.

Vegetable gardens, sometimes with a small shop or wheeled cart, are popular small-scale livelihood opportunities for families, especially widows.
£75 provides families with the necessary crop seeds and tools for planting and cultivation, as well as fertilizer in Pakistan.
£289 pays for a family or widow to establish and maintain a vegetable growing business year-round, across the seasons.
£495 is a generous donation with which Muslim Futures can help to set up a sustainable livelihood business for a widow in Africa, based on fruit or agricultural produce, including training, business set-up and on-going support.
