From assessment to project implementation and evaluation, STL is sensitive to issues of gender, age, and diversity. In our relief programs, priority is given to the needs of less-advantaged populations, including refugees and IDPs (internally displaced populations).
STL's on-going projects as follows:
• Civil Society Disaster Platform (CSDP) - Aimed to bring together and strengthen collaboration among NGOs and related stakeholders in order to minimize disaster risks and effectively respond to disasters in Turkey. (www.sitap.org)
• Emergency Relief Aid Program – Providing relief and shelter, distribution of food and sanitation packages, utensils, clothing…etc. in an emergency situation.
• Combatting Child Labor - Raising awareness on child labor in migratory agriculture, while providing psychological support and relief aid to the children and families. (www.buiscocukoyuncagidegil.com / www.oradaneisivar.com)
• Psycho-social Support and Winter Help for Yazidi Refugees – Aims to contribute in improving the lives of the crisis-affected Yazidi refugee population by improving their physical environment, strengthening their coping mechanisms; as well as physical, psychological and social well-being of the refugees in the tent camp in Diyarbakır.
• Refugee Relief Aid – On-going projects in Hatay, Urfa, Batman and İstanbul on Relief Aid, Food and Non-food items distributions, Support with E-Voucher and programs such as Case Management, Vocational courses, Awareness Raising and Psycho-social Support programs in the Community Centers (Support to Life Houses) in Urfa and Hatay.
İstanbul Community Center will be in service starting late November 2015.
Our projects are not limited to the ones above. Depending on the process and progress of each project and the upcoming needs, they may be subject to change or may be replaced to different one.
