KUMFA has been trying to become a main engine to empower unwed mothers with education opportunities and let them build financial autonomy. Besides, KUMFA provides emergency shelter for unwed mothers as well as basic living expenses for them. In Korea unwed mothers tend to be outcasted from their community and even family due to the fact that patriarchism is still predominent in the society. That means many unwed mothers have to face the situation that nowhere to go, nobody to turn to. KUMFA wants to be there, to support them. HEATER provides living space, basic expenses, mental support. Unwed mothers are able to get physical, financial, informational, and mental support in HEATER.
