Transforming Education for Rural Government School Children in India
by Women's Education and Economic Development SocietyChildren studying in rural government schools across Tamil Nadu, India, face multiple challenges that impact their safety, health, and learning outcomes. While suburban and urban schools benefit significantly from CSR initiatives, many rural schools continue to lack even basic educational and hygiene facilities.
These schools serve children from low-income rural families, yet their campuses often lack safe drinking water, proper desks and tables, menstrual hygiene facilities for adolescent girls, and adequate teachers for foundational learning and computer literacy.
Through this project, WEEDS (Women’s Education and Economic Development Society) aims to create a safe, healthy, and future-ready learning environment for children in 10 rural government schools across the Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, Tiruvallur, and Krishnagiri districts, where we are actively working.
Your support will help us to:
- Provide desks and benches for comfortable and focused learning
- Install a RO drinking water system to ensure student health
- Provide menstrual hygiene facilities for adolescent girls
- Appoint instructors for computer literacy and foundational learning
Your contribution will directly strengthen education access, child safety, health, and digital skills, helping rural children gain opportunities equal to those of their urban peers.
Together, we can build schools where children learn with dignity, safety, and confidence.
