Sudan Situation

by The UN Refugee Agency ( UNHCR CANADA / HCR CANADA)

People are fleeing armed clashes in Sudan

Intense fighting has broken out in Sudan, with reports of civilians killed and injured in multiple parts of the country. People are being forced to flee amid the clashes and refugees are arriving in neighbouring Chad in desperate need of help.

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is on the ground meeting newly arrived refugees and providing lifesaving support. People need shelter, safety and basic supplies.

Sudan might be in the headlines now, but otherwise it remains an underreported crisis. The country hosts one of the largest refugee populations in Africa and, over the years, violent conflicts have also displaced many people inside the country. Due to the fragile political, security and socio-economic situation in the country, the displaced rely on humanitarian assistance.

Your donation will support people forced to flee in Sudan and to neighbouring countries.
