Children are always the first to suffer in any conflict – and the stories continuing to come from Gaza are the stuff of nightmares. Children are being killed at a devastating rate, whole families are being wiped out, and a growing number of people, including children, are being left with no surviving family members. As the conflict continues to escalate, there are reports of the loss of innocent children’s lives to hunger and disease.
Our teams in the occupied Palestinian territory have been working around the clock to respond to children’s needs, despite incredible challenges. We have been working with local partners to distribute supplies within shelters and to households in Gaza, including food baskets, water bottles, and hygiene and dignity kits. We also distributed recreational kits, alongside carrying out psychosocial support for children.
With your help, Save the Children stands ready to scale-up our support to children who need humanitarian assistance. We are calling for an immediate and definitive ceasefire. All children captured must be released immediately and unconditionally.
