Sudan - 2-years impact of the ICRC humanitarian response operations, April 2025

, INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE OF THE RED CROSS

A FORGOTTEN CRISIS
One year ago, we reported on the devastating toll of the first year of conflict in Sudan.
At the time, 8.5 million people were displaced. Today, more than 12 million people
have been forced to flee their homes, including 3.7 million who have crossed borders
into neighboring countries. The humanitarian crisis continues to escalate, while global
attention declines.
What began as a visible emergency has quietly slipped out of the headlines — yet the suffering has not stopped. Hospitals have collapsed. Families remain torn apart.
Millions of people are struggling to survive without food, shelter, or care.
The ICRC stays committed to delivering essential support in communities even when
the world’s attention has waned. Sudan is no longer just a forgotten crisis — it is an
ignored one. And still, the needs are enormous.

With your support, the ICRC and the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS) continue
to respond where few others can — bringing care, protection, and dignity to
communities in crisis.
