A powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia on Monday, causing widespread devastation and leaving families facing loss, displacement and uncertainty. Deaths and injuries have been reported, buildings have collapsed, and critical infrastructure has been damaged. Search and rescue efforts remain ongoing as communities struggle to recover.
CARE Colombia is working with local partners, community organisations and authorities to assess needs and support those most affected. Particular attention is being given to women, girls, children, older people and people with disabilities, who often face increased risks and barriers to accessing support following disasters.
Your donation can help provide emergency shelter, safe water, hygiene supplies, cash assistance, protection services and psychosocial support for families affected by the earthquake. Flexible funding allows CARE and its local partners to respond quickly and direct support where needs are greatest as the situation continues to evolve.
Together, we can help communities access life-saving assistance and begin rebuilding their lives after this devastating disaster.
