When international funding for the Sow & Soar Program was suddenly cut off, hundreds of young mothers and youth farmers in Uganda were left stranded. What was once a pathway to sustainable farming and economic independence has now turned into an urgent call for help.
The Sow & Soar Program, created by PSM Charity, had been empowering young women and youth through climate-smart organic farming and entrepreneurship. With hands-on training, farming inputs, and direct access to markets, participants were gaining the tools to feed their families, earn a living, and build sustainable communities.
But with the loss of support, many of these promising initiatives are at risk of collapse. Training sessions have stalled, farming tools and seeds are no longer available, and the momentum we had built with local markets is fading.
