Vanuatu Earthquake – Children in Need

, Australian Committee For UNICEF Limited

On December 17, 2024, a 7.3 magnitude earthquake struck near Vanuatu, Pacific Islands, followed by major aftershocks. At this stage over 40,000 children in need of humanitarian assistance and over 80,000 people across seven regions have been affected, with reported fatalities and injuries rising. Major health facilities and infrastructure have been severely damaged.

UNICEF's team of 19 staff is on the ground, coordinating with local authorities to provide critical assistance in water, sanitation, health, nutrition, and child protection. UNICEF have distributed essential supplies but urgently need additional funding to continue and expand these efforts.

We ask for your support to help UNICEF provide much-needed earthquake aftermath relief to children, women and families.

Please donate today.

Should we receive more funds than is needed for this emergency, your gift will support UNICEF's work where the need is greatest.
