We envision a world where every woman and child in rural areas can access the resources, education, and opportunities they need to lead healthy, empowered lives. We are committed to creating communities where menstrual health is not a barrier to achieving one’s potential, ensuring it no longer impedes education, employment, or empowerment. Through our work, we strive for a future where each person has the capacity to contribute positively to their community’s prosperity and well-being.
- Health and Hygiene: Our health camps provide essential services such as gynecological care, vision and eye care, vaccinations, and general medical check-ups. Alongside these camps, we conduct health and hygiene education sessions in schools, centers, and communities to promote wellness and prevent disease.
- Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training: We recognize the importance of economic empowerment and offer vocational training in various crafts and skills, including candle-making, jewelry-making, and beautician courses. We also provide entrepreneurship training to encourage women to start their own businesses, thus fostering economic independence and community development.
- Menstrual Health Management (MHM): Through the Asani Sanitary Napkin Program, we focus on producing and distributing high-quality, low-cost sanitary napkins. This program also includes comprehensive MHM awareness activities aimed at breaking down the stigmas associated with menstruation, enabling women and girls to pursue education and work without hindrance.
About Us
Founded as a small private family foundation, we evolved into a public 501c3 organization in 2014. This transition, reflecting our commitment to expanding our impact, was supported by the founding family, who continue to match individual donations. We also established our NGO status in India under the Desai Foundation Trust. Our approach to programming is akin to a tech start-up, with a focus on piloting, structuring, evaluating, and scaling over 30 programs across western India. Our success is rooted in a balanced approach to program funding and selecting the right partners on the ground, ensuring sustainable and community-welcomed programs.
