Sudan's children are growing up in the middle of the world's largest humanitarian crisis.
Over half of Sudan's population now need urgent humanitarian support, including an estimated 16 million children.
They have lost their parents, friends, and neighbours, and have been subjected to unspeakable violence that has deprived them of food, shelter and care. Across, the country, the UN estimates 3 million children under 5 are acutely malnourished.
El Fasher has been under siege for over 500 days. More than 260,000 people, including an estimated 130,000 children remain trapped inside El Fasher, enduring famine-like conditions and a total collapse of health services, with no way out.
Since the siege began in April 2024, Save the Children has significantly scaled up its humanitarian response, reaching over 224,000 people felling violence and insecurity, providing:
- Health and nutrition support in permanent and mobile health clinics
- Water, sanitation and hygiene services
- Cash and voucher assistance
- Child friendly spaces
- Child protection programming
