Ebola Crisis Fund

来自 MEDECINS SANS FRONTIERES (UK)

Ebola disease is a rare but deadly viral illness that can kill up to 90 percent of those infected, depending on the virus and the care available. Last month, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Uganda each declared a new outbreak of Ebola disease.

Never before has an Ebola disease outbreak recorded so many suspected cases so soon after its declaration.

MSF are leading experts in treating and containing Ebola. Our emergency teams are uniquely equipped with the supplies, experience, and community trust needed to respond to the current outbreak.

Our teams have been part of the initial response which has included:
• Constructing Ebola Treatment Centres in Mongbwalu (65 beds), the outbreak's epicenter, and Goma (80 beds), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and local leaders.
• Strengthening triage, infection prevention control, and case management across Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu — including installation of isolation tents, reinforced triage capacity, and training healthcare workers on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and hygiene procedures.
• Conducting surveillance and contact tracing to identify new cases.
• Community engagement is central to the response. MSF teams are on the ground conducting outreach and health promotion to give communities the information and trust needed to act.
• Supporting safe and dignified burials to prevent transmission while respecting local customs and mourning practices.

Will you donate today and help save more lives?

All funds raised will go directly to MSF’s Ebola Crisis Fund.

Your Impact:
• £155 could cover the cost of an international MSF doctor to support local teams for a day
• £77 could pay for a set of personal protective equipment for one staff member in an Ebola treatment centre
• £40 could pay for 40 IV bags which provide life-saving fluid and blood
