A good intervention on the disabled child, carried out at the earliest possible age, represents the best way to positively and decisively influence the development of his life. Thus, in recent years, early care work has been consolidated in public and private institutions around the world.
A healthy individual is born endowed with an adequate biological program to adapt to the outside world and to be able to assimilate it.
The healthy baby is born with behavioral responses that are first reflexive and progressively become more intentional. Adults close to the child, mainly the mother, are naturally trained to interpret these reactions and be able to respond to them. Thus, if there are no other disturbances, babies become progressively more competent and parents more effective.
Any sensory, physical or mental disability breaks this natural development and forces the individual and the environment that welcomes him to make an effort to adapt and to supply, with alternative resources, the deficiencies that the child presents.
But this additional effort, this adaptive detour, is not always feasible. In part, for reasons due to the deficit itself and, in part, due to the situation of misinformation and emotional crisis in which parents usually find themselves.
At Fundavé we have developed an early care work plan where we guide the family, initially in coping with disability and then through a series of activities, workshops and guidance we help them find new forms of adaptation that allow for a coherent structuring of the physical world and achieve a development of the personality. Each child has its own development profile and each family its own relational dynamics, therefore, they require careful and individualized attention, and different professionals are required to care for them: psychologist, physical therapist, social worker, special educator, speech therapist.
For working with children and families, at Fundavé we have created a cozy and special room, where the child and his family not only feel comfortable, but also have the appropriate furniture and the elements and toys necessary for the activities. activities that will be carried out during each intervention.
This program is currently serving more than 25 children, including blind children, children with low vision, deafblind children and children with multiple disabilities, so we have seen the need to expand our care space, as well as think about the possibility of hiring an extra professional, since those who are currently there would not be able to cope with more children entering the program.
Today, we want to ask for your donations to raise $6,000 dollars that will allow us to buy new sound toys, toys with lights, aroma and texture kits, toys for motor development and role-playing toys and elements to build communication boards for children with multiple disabilities; and being able to hire a professional to give us support 2 times a week.

Una buena intervención sobre el niño con discapacidad, realizada a la edad más temprana posible, representa el mejor modo de influir de manera positiva y decisiva sobre el desarrollo de su vida. Así, durante los últimos años el trabajo en atención temprana se ha consolidado en instituciones públicas y privadas en todo el mundo.
Un individuo sano nace dotado de un programa biológico adecuado para adaptarse al mundo exterior y para poder asimilarlo.
El bebé sano nace con unas respuestas conductuales que primero son reflejas y, progresivamente, van haciéndose más intencionales. Los adultos próximos al niño, principalmente la madre, están capacitados de forma natural para interpretar estas reacciones y poder responderlas. De este modo, si no hay otras perturbaciones, los bebés se hacen progresivamente más competentes y los padres más eficaces.
Cualquier discapacidad sensorial, física o psíquica rompe este desenvolvimiento natural y obliga al individuo y al entorno que le acoge a realizar un esfuerzo de adaptación y a suplir, con recursos alternativos, las carencias que presente el niño.
Pero este esfuerzo suplementario, este rodeo adaptativo, no siempre resulta viable. En parte, por razones debidas al propio déficit y, en parte, por la situación de desinformación y de crisis emocional en que suelen encontrarse los padres.
En Fundavé hemos desarrollado un plan de trabajo de atención temprana donde orientamos a la familia, inicialmente en el afrontar la discapacidad y luego a través de una serie de actividades, talleres y orientaciones los ayudamos a encontrar nuevas formas de adaptación que permitan conseguir una estructuración coherente del mundo físico y alcanzar un desarrollo de la personalidad. Cada niño tiene su propio perfil de desarrollo y cada familia su propia dinámica relacional, por tanto, requieren una atención cuidadosa e individualizada, y se requieren diferentes profesionales para la atención de estos: Psicólogo, fisioterapeuta, trabajador social, educador especial, fonoaudiólogo.
Para el trabajo con los niños y con la familia, en Fundavé hemos creado un salón acogedor y especial, donde el niño y su familia, no solo se sientan a gusto, sino que cuente con el mobiliario adecuado y los elementos y juguetes necesarios para las actividades que se realizarán durante cada intervención.
Este programa actualmente está atendiendo a más de 25 niños entre niños ciegos, niños con baja visión, niños sordociegos y niños con discapacidad múltiple, por lo que hemos visto la necesidad de ampliar nuestro espacio de atención, así como pensar en la posibilidad de contratar a un profesional extra, pues los que están actualmente no darían abasto al ingresar más niños al programa.
Hoy, queremos pedirles sus donaciones para recaudar $6000 dolares que nos permitan comprar nuevos juguetes sonoros, juguetes con luces, kits de aromas y texturas, juguetes para desarrollo motor y juguetes de roles y elementos para construir tableros de comunicación para aquellos niños con discapacidad múltiple; y poder contratar a un profesional que nos brinde apoyo 2 veces por semana.
