WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY - Youth Mental Health Crisis

来自 Australian Committee For UNICEF Limited

In a world where mental health has become a crisis for our young ones, your support can make all the difference.

This World Mental Health Day (10 October) help children and the people who care for them access the support they need, especially in times of uncertainty and upheaval.

What UNICEF’s Mental Wellbeing Work Does:

UNICEF operates in over 190 countries, delivering mental health and psychosocial support through both emergency response and long-term development programs. Its approach is multisectoral, integrating health, education, child protection, and social services to support children, adolescents, and caregivers.

• Early Intervention - Half of all mental health conditions begin by age 14. UNICEF prioritises early childhood and adolescent mental health through school-based programs, parenting support, and community outreach.

• Emergency Response - In crises like Ukraine, Gaza, and Papua New Guinea, UNICEF provides trauma-informed care, psychosocial support, and case management for displaced and affected children.

• Systems Strengthening - Here in Australia and abroad UNICEF works with governments to build sustainable mental health systems, including training health workers and integrating psychology into primary care.

Your contributions help UNICEF:
• Expand mental health resources both in Australia and abroad.
• Train more teachers, health workers, and parents.
• Reach vulnerable children who might otherwise go without support.

This World Mental Health Day, donate through workplace giving and help combat the mental wellbeing crisis affecting children and young people.
Together, we can ensure that every child has the chance to grow up safe, supported, and mentally well.
