Our Junior Crusader hockey player, Giuseppe, an 11-year-old with an indomitable spirit and a deep love for hockey, family, friends, World War Two history, and Huskies. Despite battling Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG) brain cancer since September 2023, Giuseppe continues to fight each day and perseveres through his treatments. Enduring three brain surgeries and months of radiation, including a recent surgery in May 2024, his resilience and zest for life touch hearts wherever he goes, embodying the spirit of a young warrior facing challenges head-on. Supported by his loving family, friends, and a community cheering him on, Giuseppe's journey is a testament to courage and unwavering determination.
It's been a tough summer for brave Seppe. Right before the boys' birthday party, the Struppa family received the heartbreaking news from Giuseppe's MRI: his cancer had spread in both his brain and spine. On top of this, Seppe has been experiencing episodes of confusion and has fainted multiple times. He has had a number of seizures this summer and was rushed to UMASS University Hospital, followed by transfers via Life Flight ground ambulance to Boston Children's Hospital two times, where he has been an inpatient since early August.
Seppe is currently under close monitoring via EEG for any further seizure activity. The MRI showed that the cancer is still progressing, so the plan moving forward includes more radiation and trying a new medication. It's a tough road, but Seppe continues to show us all what true strength looks like. The Seppe Strong Benefit Fund will be used for medical expenses and other unforeseen expenditures related to his treatment and recovery.
