The Central Uganda Wash-Eco Intervention (CUWEI) Program is a comprehensive initiative led by PSM Charity, designed to address and ameliorate the multi-faceted challenges faced by communities in Central Uganda.
Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH): A cornerstone of the CUWEI program is improving Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) standards across communities. The program endeavors to ensure consistent access to clean and potable water by establishing boreholes, wells, and rainwater harvesting systems. Sanitation facilities are built and improved to enhance living conditions and prevent diseases.
Hygiene and Menstrual Health: Recognizing the specific challenges faced by women and girls, CUWEI actively promotes menstrual health. It provides menstrual hygiene kits and conducts training sessions for women and girls on creating reusable sanitary pads. This focus on menstrual hygiene ensures dignity, encourages school attendance among young girls, and fosters a healthy community.
