The Challenge
Myanmar has experienced a 7.7 magnitude earthquake. Over 1,700 people have died. Thousands more are injured or missing.
Myanmar was already facing a humanitarian crisis, with 19.9M people requiring urgent assistance. The earthquake is putting significant additional strain on resources and response capabilities.
CARE's partners on the ground are determining the extent of the damage and the critical needs.
CARE Australia is working with partners to deliver food, shelter and medical assistance to people affected. Funds raised will be used to respond to this humanitarian crisis.
If funds exceed what is needed, or if local conditions prevent program implementation, funds will instead provide humanitarian support in other crisis situations in Myanmar or around the world.
