The monsoon has already unleashed widespread distress across India. Relentless rains have triggered widespread floods, landslides, leading to large-scale damages and displacement of people across many regions. Communities in Punjab, Rajasthan, Bihar, Karnataka, West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Uttarakhand, Himachal and several other states are among the worst affected. Lakhs of people have seen their homes, crops, and livestock washed away, with livelihoods deeply disrupted.
The widespread devastation highlights the urgent need for immediate relief and long-term planning for flood resilience across India.
Goonj is initiating a two-phase response:
Phase 1: Immediate Relief – Distribution of Disaster Rahat Kits (clothing essentials, hygiene items, toiletries, dry Ration, etc.) & School Kits (notebooks, stationery items, repurposed school bags, etc) in different affected regions of India.
Phase 2: Rehabilitation – Community-led rebuilding through Goonj’s rural development model.
We appeal for urgent action. Your timely contribution can help us reach 20,000 disaster-affected families across India, supporting nearly 1,00,000 individuals with immediate relief and pathways to long-term resilience.
