YW Calgary focuses on enhancing women’s safety and well-being while advocating for equity. We provide crisis and transitional shelter, counselling, parenting supports, childcare, language and employment programs that help move women from crisis to stability.

YW Calgary focuses on enhancing women’s safety and well-being while advocating for equity. We provide crisis and transitional shelter, counselling, parenting supports, childcare, language and employment programs that help move women from crisis to stability.
In 2024 we:
- helped almost 10,000 people, supporting women and their families in finding new opportunities. This means 25% or 2,000 more people were supported by YW than the previous year.
- Estimate that our work impacts an additional 19,000 individuals every year. For every individual who accesses our programming, we believe that there is an indirect impact on at least three other individuals in that person’s life.
- Know that we are having a positive impact on participants after being involved with YW programming. Over 92% of participants surveyed said they were feeling hopeful about the future, 78% have stable housing, 90% feel safe in their relationships, and 89% have people they can depend on during challenging times.
Donations of any amount make an impact and enable us to provide vulnerable women and their families with support, when and where they need it most. The success of the women and families supported by YW are your success too. We cannot do this alone. Only together can we empower change.
