Hurricane Milton and the 2024 Hurricane Season: Americares is Ready, With Your Help
di AMERICARES FOUNDATION INCAmericares is responding to Hurricane Milton — the second major hurricane to hit Florida in less than two weeks. Your support is urgently needed to help Americares continue to bring lifesaving aide to impacted communities.
Hurricane Milton made landfall as a powerful Category 3 storm south of Tampa, Fla., the evening of October 9, causing widespread damage and power outages for millions across the state. Americares deployed a response team to Florida and has reached out to 110 partner clinics to offer assistance. We are prepared to deliver critically needed medicines and relief supplies to meet the health needs after the storm makes landfall. The organization is also prepared to provide emergency funding to help repair damaged health facilities and restore health services disrupted by the storm.
“Florida’s Gulf Coast is bracing for what could be the third major hurricane in 13 months,” said Americares U.S. Director of Emergency Response Mariel Fonteyn. “Communities still reeling from Hurricane Helene and continuing the recovery from Hurricane Idalia last year are going to need help. We’re ready to respond and support survivors’ health needs.”
At the same time, Americares continues to respond to Hurricane Helene, providing critical medicines, relief supplies, emergency funding, and mental health support to those affected.
Your donation helps fuel Americares immediate and ongoing response efforts when disaster strikes. Together, we can reach survivors, deliver lifesaving aid and help people rebuild their lives.
Donations to Americares 2024 U.S. Hurricane Fund will support its responses to Helene, Milton and future storms.
