After-school and summer programs for local kids or support services for isolated seniors are luxuries that many simply can’t afford right now. No one should have to decide between food and rent, and yet, 1 in 7 Canadians is facing hunger. Our Community Food Hubs mobilize thousands of volunteers to sort, prep or deliver fresh, nutritious food for those who need it most.

All children deserve a chance to reach their full potential, but 1 in 5 BC kids live in poverty. United Way provides safe, accessible programs and activities that help kids develop friendships, build confidence and learn new skills.

Seniors who remain active and socially engaged are happier and healthier. United Way supports, connects, and provides activities for older adults to combat social isolation while living independently.

We can all use a little help from time to time, but sometimes we just don’t know where to turn. That’s exactly what our 211 British Columbia helpline is here for. It provides free, confidential information and connection to a broad range of community, government, and social services to help when you need it.
