MCR Footwear for the leprosy affected people

Footwear known as Micro-cellular rubber insole footwear (MCR) is recommended for people who are affected by leprosy. However, it’s important to check the shoes every day to see if there are any damages. In case of any damage, the footwear needs to be replaced as MCR footwear cannot be repaired. The cost of one footwear is Rs.500/-.

Our Madurai Health and Leprosy Relief Centre - provides the MCR footwear to all our beneficiaries in every year. Our leprosy beneficiaries are living in Madurai rural areas, they are working in field, doing hard works with coats, sheep and cows and doing dailywages. So their foots are damaged easily- again and again foot ulcers formed. . So that to protect the foots POD(Prevention of Deformity) we provides tailored shoes to every leprosy affected people in free of cost.
