Americares Response to Hurricane Helene – Immediate Relief Efforts Underway

de AMERICARES FOUNDATION INC

Your help is needed to support Hurricane Helene response efforts.

Hurricane Helene made landfall late Thursday in Florida’s Big Bend region as a Category 4 hurricane before heading north, leaving millions without power and a trail of destruction in its path.

Our teams at Americares are on the ground and working tirelessly to address the most urgent needs in the affected areas. We are providing essential medicines, medical supplies, and hygiene kits to local clinics and health centers. We are also focusing on restoring health services, offering emergency support to help facilities reopen and care for their communities as quickly as possible.

Additionally, Americares is committed to supporting the mental health needs of both survivors and first responders. The long-term impact of such disasters often includes trauma, stress, and anxiety, and we are preparing to deploy psychosocial support services to address these rising needs.

An Emergency Response team has already begun its assessments in Florida, and a second team is set to deploy to the North Carolina/Tennessee region to support clinics and hospitals affected by the storm. We already reached out to more than 350 partner organizations across the Southeast and are committed to ensuring that communities receive the help they need in this challenging time.

We are committed to staying in the region for as long as it takes to help families recover.

Your donation is vital in helping to restore health services to survivors.

Thank you for standing with us as we respond. Together, we’ll bring hope and health to the communities affected by this disaster.

*Should Americares raise funds in excess of what's needed to respond to this particular crisis, the funds will be redirected to where the need is greatest.
