Americares WASH Programs: Fighting Climate Related Health Crisis

de AMERICARES FOUNDATION INC

Climate change and rising global temperatures pose one of the greatest threats to human health, disrupting healthcare services, displacing communities, threatening access to safe water and increasing risks of illnesses such as malnutrition, malaria, diarrhea and heat stress.

Americares is at work on the frontlines of this health crisis with essential programming such as our WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) Global Programs.

Our WASH program is dedicated to implementing sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene projects in healthcare facilities, schools and communities around the world. Including:

• Colombia: Worked alongside various communities to improve their access to clean water and sanitation facilities and implement WASH education programming.
• El Salvador: Supported a network of schools and clinics with hygiene kits and WASH materials.
• Philippines: Hygiene and WASH kits distributed, medicine donated, distribution of WASH items to impacted communities as part of our Typhoon Carina and Luzon flooding responses.
• Türkiye: Grant to partner in southern Türkiye to support WASH activities related to the high summer heat.

Supporting Americares WASH programming can have a BIG impact!

We have seen significant success including improved hygiene and sanitation habits, reduced incidences of water-related diseases and more empowered individuals and communities advocating for improved sanitation facilities and hygiene practices.

*We can reach 1 person for every dollar donated to our WASH Global Programs.*
With your support, we can make health happen no matter where extreme weather disasters strike.
