Health and Hygiene kit for every vulnerable family
de Women's Education and Economic Development SocietyProject Objective:
To improve health and hygiene practices among marginalized communities by providing essential hygiene kits, educating families on the importance of basic health habits, and encouraging sustained healthy practices.
Project Description:
"Health is Wealth" is more than just a proverb—it's a crucial reality, especially in vulnerable, underprivileged communities. Many marginalized families live in poor conditions, often with limited access to basic health items that others take for granted. Without the awareness or means to maintain basic hygiene, these families are exposed to frequent illnesses, particularly children who are vulnerable to disease due to unhygienic practices and surroundings.
WEEDS aims to address this gap by launching a health and hygiene initiative to:
1. Distribute essential health and hygiene kits (containing items like toothpaste, shampoo, toothbrushes, bath soap, sanitary pads, etc.) to individuals and families in need.
2. Educate these families on the importance of hygiene for disease prevention and healthy living.
3. Promote the formation of lifelong hygiene habits within these communities.
Project Goals:
1. Distribute hygiene kits with a one-month supply of essentials to families and individuals in need.
2. Educate recipients on the proper use and benefits of each item in the kit, emphasizing the importance of regular hygiene.
3.Ensure these families integrate these hygiene practices into their daily lives by regular follow-ups and support.
Target Beneficiaries:
• Economically disadvantaged families, focusing on children and women within these communities.
• Marginalized families living in substandard, unhygienic conditions.
Expected Outcomes:
- Increased Health Awareness: Beneficiaries will have improved understanding of the importance of hygiene in disease prevention.
- Enhanced Hygiene Practices: Beneficiaries will integrate the use of hygiene products into their daily routines.
- Reduction in Illnesses: By encouraging regular hygiene practices, there should be a noticeable decrease in the frequency of common ailments such as colds, flu, and skin infections.
- Sustained Healthy Habits: Families will continue these hygiene practices beyond the project duration, contributing to long-term community health improvements.
Budget Components:
Contribute USD 07 / Rs.570 for one Family’s Hygiene Kit for one month.
Contribute USD 50 / Rs.4100 to create Health awareness in a community
Conclusion:
This project will serve as a stepping stone toward healthier living for marginalized families in the targeted areas. By making health and hygiene a community priority, WEEDS can foster a ripple effect, leading to safer and healthier environments for all.
