Support efforts to protect children affected by flooding in Thailand and beyond.
de SAVE THE CHILDRENNearly 2 million people, including 400,000 children have been affected by severe flooding in the south of Thailand. Thousands of families are displaced, schools are closed indefinitely, and children face life-threatening risks from rising waters and downed power lines. Hat Yai, a major business hub and tourist destination, has been declared a disaster zone, with residents evacuated as floodwaters reach rooftops. Continuous heavy rain means the situation is worsening.
Save the Children Thailand has an ongoing presence in the southern provinces and will build on existing emergency preparedness plans with schools, government agencies, and local communities to ensure a rapid and coordinated response.
Our emergency response will focus on:
• Distributing emergency kits (baby kits, children’s kits, dignity kits) to meet immediate needs.
• Providing essential non-food items to help families recover.
• Supporting schools with seed grants for repairs and safe reopening.
• Delivering back-to-school kits so children can return to learning quickly.
Your donations could support families in need of urgent support in Thailand. Donate now to support Save the Children in reacting and responding quickly to the biggest problems facing children.
