CARE is one of Canada's largest secular aid and development agencies, reaching millions of people in more than 87 countries around the world. We work in proud partnership with Canadians from coast to coast, as well as with people living in the communities in which we work.

Our story began more than 70 years ago, when we began our emergency relief work by delivering “CARE Packages” to the people of Europe following WWII.

From these beginnings, we have grown into one of the world’s largest private humanitarian and development organization. Every day we are proud to be on the front lines to help empower communities in need and to improve living conditions throughout the developing world.

Working with the people with whom we serve, we help provide long-term development and economic empowerment to communities facing challenges that include:
