Children's Emergency Fund- Urgent Appeal for Children in Gaza
von SAVE THE CHILDREN-CANADA/AIDE A L'ENFANCE-CANADANew data released by the IPC confirms our worst fears – a famine is now taking place in Gaza. This was entirely preventable and predictable after almost two years of severe restrictions, including six months of near-total siege, preventing food, medicine and doctors from entering Gaza.
Staff from our clinics in Gaza tell us malnutrition rates are soaring among pregnant women and children are starving to death. Save the Children’s teams are partners are doing everything we can to save lives, including treating children for malnutrition in our clinics, but the situation is getting worse day by day.
Despite the operational challenges, our teams and partners across Gaza and the West Bank are constantly adapting and innovating to overcome access and supply chain restrictions to keep our lifesaving programs for children running.
The most impactful way to support children in Gaza right now is by giving flexible humanitarian funding. This allows our teams and partners to adapt and innovate to keep programs running – from treating a child with malnutrition in a clinic, to offering a safe space for children to play.
The Children’s Emergency Fund exists to support children in crisis, wherever they are.
